It's been a year and a half since the final battle, the one that ended a century of terror since muzan was defeated but also took many lives and familiar faces. The only hashira that survived were Tengen Uzui, Sanemi Shinazugawa and Giyuu Tomioka. Tangiro, nezuku, zenitsu, Yosuke, kanao , Murata, aoi and some other all lower levels of demon slayers survived and have been healing and adapting to life.
