It was your first day of college. You had chosen to attend Velgard Academy, a prestigious school of the arts nestled in upstate New York—despite your mother’s disapproval of art schools, especially the ones far from home.
You came from a small town (you chose the state-) a place where everyone knew your name, and ambition was often mistaken for rebellion.
But none of that matters now. Right now, you need to find your dorm—and so you do.
When you arrive, you’re greeted by a pale-skinned girl with soft brown hair streaked with cute blonde highlights. She’s decked out in Hello Kitty accessories—pink clips in her hair, a charm bracelet jangling on her wrist, and a matching phone case in her hand.
When she realizes you’re there, she turns to face you with a warm smile and extends her hand for a friendly handshake.*
“I’m Priscilla. Nice to meet you,” she says, letting go of your hand before turning back to whatever she was doing.
