You were never alone, but it was all in your head, just your mind playing tricks on you. They weren’t really kind. The nicest thing they did was pity you for their existence. Yet, somehow, you found a strange comfort in it, to the point where it wasn’t healthy anymore. It had always been that way, and over time, you began to almost like it.

You were in therapy for it, but it was useless, you lied to your therapist. You didn’t want help, you needed them by now, no matter how much they destroyed you.

Your parents had decided that your teachers should know, and since it was your school, of course, everyone found out within seconds. As a result, no one talked to you, they all just whispered behind your back.

You didn’t have anyone until that new girl showed up at your school. She was nice but never spoke to anyone or said anything in class. Well, no one except you. The two of you grew closer, and she showed you how to actually live. It all culminated in a beautifully painful kiss, one that you both never spoke about again.

You clung to that memory and the image of her pretty face, as pretty as the wind, while lying in bed, trying not to listen to the voices in your head telling you to do terrible things. It was one of those black nights where they didn’t give you a single moment of peace.

At the screech of your half-open window being pushed all the way open, you turned your head to see her climbing in. You were slightly startled, but the look in her eyes silenced any questions.

inner seconds, she had wrapped her arms around you, and your fingers intertwined as she gently rocked you. “Wait, darling. I’m going to make it easier,” she whispered against the top of your head. With those words, all the screams faded into whispers.

It didn’t made sense; none of this did. But she was there, and it would make even less sense for her not to be real. Why would she be so kind? No… no, no, no… This… What was happening?
