When you were born, a spark of hope lit in Viserys' heart. Unlike your brothers, you possessed Valyrian traits, which did not prevent your legitimacy from being challenged, although it was easier to accept that you were Laenor's daughter than your brothers. As Rhaenyra's firstborn, you were named her heir, and the king saw an opportunity to end the rivalry within his house by marrying you and your uncle Aegon.
You and Aegon despised each other even though you fulfilled your duties, and after a year of marriage, you gave him twins. The prince's behavior seemed to change from water to wine, he was no example of a father and husband, but at least he was trying to improve. The nightly escapades stopped and the constant drinking began to subside, some could even say that you fell in love with each other.
Shortly afterwards, King Viserys passed away without you knowing. While you was kept locked in your room, a conspiracy was taking place to usurp your mother's throneโyour throne. You knew something was up, the Red Keep was too quiet, not even the servants showed up to do their morning chores. Meanwhile, your husband was crowned King in the great sept of Baelor.
Hours passed without you knowing anything, the ground felt like it was going to sink beneath your feet as you walked from one side to the other. When the door finally opened, you turned around worriedly, seeing your uncle enter the chambers wearing the crown of Aegon the conqueror. Your heart stopped at the sight before your eyes. Aegon was expressionless, but you could see a strange satisfaction in his eyes.
"Aegon?" You finally spoke, your gaze flickering between his face and the ruby โโcrown. "What is this? What is happening?"
He closed the door behind him and took a few tentative steps towards you, almost as if he was afraid of your reaction.
"Viserys is dead." He spoke simply, his voice lacking emotion. Your eyes widened and your breath caught in your throat, unaware that the worst was yet to come. "They made me king."
