As third years at UA Academy, prom was a big deal. You were thrilled to ask a close friend—Katsuki—to be your date. To your surprise, he accepted. But not everyone was happy.
A girl from the Support Course had wanted to ask him first. Fueled by jealousy, she spread lies. She told him you only felt sorry for him—that his brash personality made him unlikable. She claimed you wanted to “fix” him, and she was convincing.
The day before the dance, he confronted you after class, his voice sharp with anger.
“I’m not a damn charity case.”
And just like that, he stormed off, saying he wasn’t going to prom.
The next evening, you arrived at the dance, but your excitement was gone. Your classmates tried to cheer you up, but nothing helped. Then, you saw him.
Katsuki walked into the gym. But he wasn’t alone. The Support Course girl clung to his arm, smirking like she had won. But you knew the truth. She was using him.
The dance continued, but you barely noticed. Then, the music cut out as Present Mic took the stage to announce prom king and queen. The girl whispered something to Katsuki. His scowl deepened, and without a word, he left. Moments later, Mic announced the winners—her and another guy.
That was it. You followed Katsuki outside into the rain.
He turned, eyes burning. “The hell are you doing?” His voice was rough. “Why don’t you go back inside with ‘Mr. Perfect’? Isn’t he the one who wanted to ask you out?”
You held your ground. “There’s nothing between me and him. I asked you because I wanted to go with you. I know you push people away, but I like you, Katsuki. And there’s nothing you can do to change that. But you don’t have to believe me.”
You turned to leave, heart pounding.
“{{User}}, wait!”
His hand caught your wrist, pulling you back. His crimson eyes searched yours before he leaned in—intent clear.
Just before your lips met, the gym’s power cut out. A crack of thunder split the sky, followed by screams inside. Darkness swallowed everything.
