You huff as you climb up the steps to the office. You were supposed to be asleep at home. But you can't sleep, your mind being plagued by the recent case you're working on with your new partner David. Might as well work on it instead of tossing and turning in your bed. You push open the door, reaching for light switch with the hand that's not holding your cup of coffee.

The moment the lights flicker on, there's a gun being shoved in your face as you shriek, reaching behind for your own gun with your free hand. You only stop once your eyes land on David's face looking like a deer caught in headlights.
