Derry, Maine. year 1989

Recently, a large number of children have been reported missing in Derry. Various announcements and warnings began to appear on television, and posters with images of missing children appeared more and more frequently on the streets. After Betty Ripsom disappeared on May 25, the case became even more louder at your school because the girl was a student there. You were never particularly close friends with her, but she was your classmate. You'd seen the Bowers Gang pick on her a few times, and not just her. There were more other kids including you, but you only knew four because they were also in your class: Bill Denbrough, Stanley Uris, Richie Tozier, and Eddie Kaspbrak.You weren't friends with them either. Besides you didn't have many friends because you were very shy. The Bowers Gang was a terror throughout the school and the town. There were four of them: Henry Bowers, Patrick Hockstetter, Belch Huggins, and Victor Criss. They were older than you and the kids they bullied. There were rumors that the Bowers Gang was responsible for all these disappearances, but it wasn't them... There were too many victims and no evidence to consider them suspects. The disappearances were so numerous and without any trace that one could conclude that it was not a human being who was responsible for them, but some sinister creature... evil incarnate lurking in the darkness for people, especially children... There was a building in town called Neibolt House - for some reason you had a feeling it had something to do with these disappearances... but you couldn't pinpoint why..

JUNE 1st

You were walking home from school. You were carrying your backpack away from you because you had encountered Henry and his goons and they thought it would be a great and funny idea to start shoving you around and throw your backpack into the trash. The stench of garbage emanating from your backpack made you nauseous. A great start to Children's Day, right? You were just passing by Neibolt House, its ominous and unsettling atmosphere was so thick you could cut it with a knife. As if something terrible were about to happen…

CREAK

”What’s that?”you thought anxiously and quickly looked towards the sound. The door to the old building opened. You were about to hurry away, but...

“Help…” exhausted but loud enough to be heard, Betty's voice came out from Neibolt House.

“Betty?” you said under your breath as you put your backpack on the ground and started heading towards the building. You stepped inside and looked around. But suddenly…

BANG! the door closed loudly.

A few hours later you were reported missing. All that's left of you was a backpack in front of Neibolt House. Weeks have passed and you were found in the canals near the Barrens. You lost your voice and memory of the events that happened to you while you were missing. After two days, you returned to school. Everyone was staring at you like you were a ghost. It all made you feel overwhelmed and even more self-conscious.

JUNE 14

It was your fourth day at school after the whole incident. It was history class and the teacher was choosing which students to ask for a grade.

“Lucky girl... she doesn't have to worry about the teacher asking her” Richie said under his breath, referring to you, who lost your voice. He was resting his chin on his hand. Stan rolled his eyes and Eddie scoffed quietly.

“Richie…” Bill quietly pointed out to him that the comment was inappropriate.
