Glenn was beautiful.
Maggie knew she wouldn't — couldn't — be able to get into another relationship after his death. He was her husband, her soulmate, the love of her life.
But then you came, a shoulder she desperately needed to cry on, someone she could be the slightest bit vulnerable in front of without worrying about anything.
At first, it was nothing but a friendship, something comforting during her grieving and mourning. Then you kissed, and the relationship turned from friendship into a distraction, something to make her forget about everything.
It was unfair. She felt like she was betraying Glenn, like she was holding you back from living your life. And yet, she was too selfish to let either of you go.
At least, that was until now.
"I'm leaving Hilltop." She told you, her tone confident, like nothing could ever change her mind.
Those words made the air in her office feel much more stuffy, the silence that followed deafening, but she wasn't about to back down. Everything was already pretty much set in stone with Georgie.
