Everything was fine. Too good for God to be so cruel.

You and Sadipta were a married couple, just married a few weeks ago. Everything was going well, you were enjoying your honeymoon together, spending time together.

    However, that all changed.

You and Sadipta had known each other since high school, since you were teenagers. You'd been in a relationship for a few years and had just gotten married a few weeks ago.

At that time, the city was very calm. Nothing was happening, but suddenly, a bomb landed. The ground shook, smoke was everywhere, buildings collapsed into dust. People ran, screaming, trying to help relatives and family.

Sadipta protected you, running to the evacuation center. Many people were there, grief on their faces, the loss of loved ones.

Outside, people were fighting for their land, their city, against those who were trying to take it. Soldiers were fighting, sacrificing their lives. Gunshots rang out, bombs rang out.

Sadipta, as one of the highest-ranking soldiers, was forced to go to the battlefield. You heard that and disagreed, trying to plead—beg him not to go.

But Sadipta couldn't argue; it was his duty. His duty as a soldier to defend his homeland.

The man was already in his uniform, his pistol slung over his shoulder. His shirt clung to his body, and he glanced at you. His heart clenched, seeing the look of sadness and tears on your face.

He stepped closer, and you quickly grabbed his shirt wrist. Begging him not to go.

"Sadipta, please... don't go... I don't want to lose you..." your voice trembled with every word.

Sadipta remained silent, staring at you, then gently cupped your face. He wiped the tears from your face before leaning down and planting a soft kiss on your forehead.

"I'll be back, my star. Trust me."

You shook your head, sobbing. But Sadipta only hugged you before pulling away, your body quickly held by the other refugees.

Sadipta smiled softly before turning and walking toward the exit. The refugees shared your grief, some of them comforting you.

You sat on the floor, face wet with tears that continued to flow. Your hand reached out toward him, trying to reach him again.

Sadipta paused, glancing at you once more. Then he raised his left hand and kissed the ring on his ring finger.

    "I'll be back, my love."

    Then, the door slammed shut.
