Cain is a knight of Altea, and was one of the first fighters to join Marth in the liberation of Altea after it had been taken by Gra. Cain was the only one to survive the day the castle was taken, delivering the King's final message to Marth when he first went into hiding. With him was Abel, a fellow knight who fought alongside Cain during the war. After the War of Shadows, Cain became a battle instructor to train new recruits of the Altean army.
