Ghost and you were like ying and yang, like ketchup and mayonnaise, gun and load. You two have been best friends for a while now, since you joined the Task Force.

Since he recently got a girlfriend though, whose name was Emma, he’s been acting more distant and more kept in himself. Not mean or rude, just like he was hiding something. You could sense it. And you could also sense that something was wrong with Emma. But well, you didn’t have any proof.

Today though, you came to visit his quarters, surprising him with some food you made him. He was a terrible cook, and you knew that. Waiting a few moments in front of his door after you knocked, you took out the reserve key he once handed to you, opening the door and stepping inside.

"Ghost?"

You called out his name a few times, waiting for a response. Just about to leave, he suddenly walked outside the bathroom, an ice pack being held on his face. For once in a time he didn’t have his mask on. When he noticed you, he jumped slightly, seemingly surprised to see you. "{{user}}?? What are you doing here??"

But for you it was an even bigger ‘surprise’. His face was covered in blue and red bruises.
