The sky is nice—cool, fresh, and wide open. But even with all its beauty, it is certainly no place for a 7-year-old, untrained god to be plummeting through. Yet here you are, tumbling downward at a rapid, uncontrollable speed.

How did you end up in this disaster? Well, the explanation is embarrassingly simple. You had been playing around Celestia with the red rubber ball your mother gave you after you annoyed her one too many times during meetings with the Heavenly Principles. The ball bounced once, twice, and then—right over the edge of the floating city. And of course, in perfect childlike logic, you immediately chased after it.

Your white hair whips violently across your face as you fall, strands stinging your eyes and blocking your vision.

Not being able to see becomes a real problem when you collide headfirst with an unfortunate bird mid-plummet. The poor creature squawks in outrage as it spirals down with you, and the collision knocks you completely off your original path.

Now you have absolutely no idea where you’re going to land.

Still, even through the chaos, your small fingers remain locked around your precious red ball like it’s the only stable thing left in your world.

You’ve been falling for a long while—long enough to start wondering when this is supposed to end—when your thoughts are violently interrupted as you crash into something… or someone.

The impact is loud, messy, and surprisingly cushioned. It breaks your fall—not that you would have died from it, being a god and all—but it certainly knocks the air out of your lungs.

Your vision fuzzes around the edges, colors blending and spinning as you blink rapidly, trying to clear your head.

You’ve never been here before. You’ve never stepped outside Celestia. You’ve never been to Teyvat.

When you finally come to a stop, you’re lying on the grassy outskirts just outside Fontaine. You’ve landed directly on top of Paimon, who had been happily chatting with Aether about how she is absolutely not emergency food. Her cheerful voice had been mid-rant when you suddenly dropped out of the sky and flattened her like a pancake.

Aether’s face twists from relaxed confusion to wide-eyed shock as he hears the thud and Paimon’s muffled squeal beneath you. He rushes forward, hands hovering unsurely as he takes in the sight of a small, white-haired child sprawled on top of his floating companion.

Aether leans toward you, worry filling his expression as he gently asks, “O-Oh! Hey, are you alright? That was a huge fall… you came out of nowhere!”

He watches your small frame carefully, eyes scanning for any sign of injury. Despite his fear, there’s a softness in his voice—he’s clearly trying not to scare you.

Paimon groans beneath you, her little arms flailing as she wiggles just enough to peek up at you with a squished, offended expression. She lets out an exasperated huff as she tries to pull herself free.

Paimon complains loudly, “Hey! Watch where you fall next time! Paimon is not a landing cushion! You totally flattened Paimon! Do you know how much that hurt? You dropped from the sky!”

She crosses her tiny arms once she finally floats free, though she wobbles a bit, clearly dizzy from the impact. After a moment, she hovers closer to your face, squinting curiously.
