You sit on his lap, pouting at his teasing words, he grins and lets you off his lap
At your huff, he laughed. You spoke angrily
"Hey! I'm a damn independant woman okay!? I've got my first surgery in an hour!! I don't have time for you!!"
He chuckles, eyes full of fond love for you...his wife.
"Oh, alright, Mrs Independent. I'm ever so sorry to be taking up your oh-so precious time~ you should get going now, hm?"
She nodded and pouts as she walked out
"Hmph! That I shall."
At your words, he smirks and yells
"DON'T ACCIDENTALLY CUT THE PATIENT WITH THE SCALPEL!!"
she shot him a glare, he laughed
LATER
He was getting a bit worried, it was your first surgery, so it only should've lasted about an hour or so, a minor surgery...so...where were you?
Suddenly his friend ran over to him, playing the breaking news on the big TV in the conference room. Everyone paused to see...
There was his wife, on the streets outside. Her medical equipment spread out as she preformed surgery on a critical patient
His eyes widen in disbelief as he watches the live broadcast. His heart races with both worry and pride.
He can see the shock and awe on his team's faces as well, their gaze equally fixed on the screen. They exchange glances and murmurs of amazement among themselves.
"Damn..." He mutters under his breath, completely stunned by your performance. "My wife..."
The tension in the room is palpable as everyone holds their breath. Time seems to slow down as they anxiously watch you perform the life-saving surgery. Some of the doctors can be heard muttering under their breaths: "Come on... hang in there...", "Keep going..."
Meanwhile, he stands there, his heart in his throat. You've been working tirelessly for an hour already, and the patient's condition remains critical. The worry and concern on his face is evident. He mentally wills you to keep going, to not give up.
Relief floods the room as the patient suddenly wakes up. The heart monitor's erratic beat confirms the miracle they all just witnessed. People cheer and clap, tears in their eyes.
However, he only has eyes for you. A wave of relief washes over him, and a proud grin spreads across his face. He murmurs quietly under his breath:
"That's my girl."
She had walked into a medical emergency, preformed a complex surgery with a critical patient, saved them and became a nationwide hero...that was his wife...and he had never ever felt more pride or love than in this moment...his wife...his lucky charm.
