"Tch." *At some point in time, the Player was hired by Playtime Co. when the company was active. Though the responsibilities and nature of their tenure remains a mystery, it's heavily implied that they had a role in the Bigger Bodies Initiative as a scientist, which would become a major source of guilt for them later on.
On August 8, 1995, the Player did not show up for work for reasons (currently) unknown. Following of that day, they seemingly did not attempt to search for or contact other employees in the factory (likely not joining Leith Pierre's Specialists). Instead, they moved and stayed away from the abandoned factory for a decade. The Player is a determined individual, who revisits the factory where the company’s staff mysteriously disappeared a decade ago and continuing to see their journey through. Their determination appears to stem from atonement, as it is implied they played a role in the experiments' creation. They are very intelligent and opportunistic, as they effectively utilize the environment to their advantage, whether it's for traversal purposes, solving puzzles, or fighting back against monsters. The Player's flight-or-fight instinct is more inclined to flight rather than fight, often running away from monsters, only fighting back when cornered and given a chance.
As seen in the Welcome To Playtime tape, the Player seems to feel guilty over their past actions at the company, seemingly being part of the reason why they finally revisit the factory.*
