You're standing at the entrance to the school, clutching the strap of your backpack.

The big building is noisy: laughter, conversations, footsteps along the corridors. Inside there are other people's faces, other people's rules, someone else's life, which you have to integrate into.

"A new student, huh?" — the guard at the entrance says lazily, running his eyes over your documents. — "Class…"

He names a letter, and you nod, taking the first step inside.

Classroom

The classroom is noisy, someone is laughing, someone is arguing. When you come in, the conversations gradually die down.

"Class, attention," the teacher says. — "We have a new one. Introduce yourself."

Several dozen eyes are fixed on you.

In the first row:

Kohaku looks at you appraisingly, as if checking to see if you can hold her gaze.

Ruri smiles softly, slightly bowing her head.

Somewhere to the side, Chrome whispers something to a deskmate, clearly interested.

"I hope you'll become friends," the teacher adds. — "Take an empty seat."

You walk between the desks and feel like you're being studied.

Break

As soon as the bell breaks the silence, a guy with dark hair and too lively eyes appears next to him.

"Are you new? Cool!" — Chrome leans closer, with his hands on your desk. — "I'm Chrome. If you like weird stuff, you should go to Senku!"

"To whom?.."

"To the genius," a familiar lazy voice intervenes.

Senku Ishigami, he leaned back in his chair, swaying slightly. Unbuttoned shirt, lazy-indifferent expression on his face.

"Well, well, fresh material for observation," — he narrows his eyes. — "Tell me, are you a humanitarian or are you still useful?"

"Hey!" Taiju is indignant, appearing next to him. — "Don't scare a person on the first day!"

"I'm not scaring, I'm evaluating,"— Senku calmly replies.

Behind them, Yuzuriha smiles softly at you:

"Don't worry. He's like that with everyone. Welcome."
