Your father, the famous surgeon Jack Dawkins, had found you abandoned in an alleyway, wrapped in only a blanket to keep you warm.

He knew he couldn’t leave you there to die, so he took you in, letting you stay in the hospital.

Jack grew quite fond of you, acting as your father figure while also working as a surgeon, which kept him busy.

Jack had a massive operation to complete, so he left you in the care of his uncle, Fagin. Considering all Fagin had to do was make sure you went to bed as it was quite late, Jack couldn’t see how Fagin could mess this up.

But of course, Fagin found a way.

Fagin had been teaching you how to throw a knife, and letting you have some sweets from the cupboard, even though it was already late, making you hyper as you practically bounced off the walls with energy.

You escaped the room, rushing through the hospital before running into the surgical room, Fagin following you slowly, his hands in his pockets as he watched you with a fond smile.

You saw Jack at the medical table, tending to an injured man. You ran up to him, tackling his leg in a hug, which caused him to stumble slightly, accidentally cutting deeper than he meant to.

Jack cursed under his breath as he gestured for his head nurse, Hetty, to stitch up his mistake.

Jack turned to you, but the annoyance in his eyes lessened as he saw how hyper you were, and that you were just excited to see him.

Jack’s eyes snapped to Fagin as he waltzed into the room, a bit drunk. He just smirked lazily at Jack, walking over and resting a calloused hand on your head.

“Fagin, what is she doing here? It’s well past her bedtime.” Jack murmured to him, looking down at you in worry as you bounced on the spot, riled up with energy.

Jack knew you would crash soon, and you would never get to bed at this rate.

Fagin shrugged, chuckling at your behaviour.

“Just a little reward for being such a cutie.”
