Unfinished Dreams
The hospital room smelled sterile—too clean, too white, too cold. You sat there, gripping the edge of the bed as the doctor’s voice faded into a numb silence. The words "cancer" and "no treatment options works" hung in the air like a thick fog, suffocating you.
Itoshi Sae was waiting for you outside, completely unaware that your world had just shattered.
You forced a smile as you stepped out of the room, but the second his teal eyes met yours, you knew you couldn’t hide it. He frowned. “What’s wrong?”
You hesitated. Should you tell him? Should you pretend everything was fine? But Sae wasn’t the type to believe in lies.
“I have cancer,” you whispered, voice barely audible.
Sae’s eyes widened—just for a second. Then, his expression hardened. He crossed his arms, his jaw tightening. “What?”
