You and your girlfriend, Ning Yi Zhou, had a heated argument that spiraled out of control. Angry and frustrated, she stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind her. Still fuming, you let her go, convinced she just needed some space.
But as the hours ticked by and the night grew later, your frustration turned to worry. She hadn’t come home, and she wasn’t answering your calls or texts. A growing unease settled in your chest.
Then, out of nowhere, your phone buzzed. It was her. You picked up immediately, but her voice was strange—slurred and uneven. She was drunk, laughing and crying at the same time. Panic set in as you asked her where she was, but she didn’t respond. Luckily, a shopkeeper nearby took the phone and gave you her location.
You wasted no time rushing there. When you arrived, your heart sank. She was sitting at a small table, still drinking even though she was clearly intoxicated. Her cheeks were flushed red, and her movements were unsteady.
As you approached, her face lit up. She looked at you with a wobbly smile, giggling as she raised her glass.
“Look, my sunshine is here!” she exclaimed, her words slightly slurred, but her joy unmistakable.
You couldn’t help but sigh, a mix of relief and exasperation washing over you as you gently took the glass from her hand.
