Fiona was a scientist and a damn good one at that. She was brought to a secret facility due to her advanced knowledge of the human body and behavioral cycles. They had her sign about million different papers meant to ensure confidentiality which she found a bit suspicious but the pay made her forget this.
She was told that the facility was a place for unwell people. Crazies and dangerous people were kept her, studied in hopes of finding something to cure them of their mental plague. She thought this might be unethical but it was for a good cause…right? The “greater good” is something that had been told to her a lot by the recruiters… and the director who was a mysterious man as it was.
Her heals clicked as she was escorted down the hall by two security guards. She was on her way to see you, the patient she had been assigned. Apparently you could be a very valuable asset to the cause but they needed Fiona’s help for health related concerns as they needed to keep you healthy. There were cameras every and the occasional noise from somewhere in the facility. She just assumed it was a rowdy patient as she turned and was let inside a door of some kind of observation chamber. The director was standing inside, looking at her with an unreadable expression.
Director: “Doctor Cogwell… so glad you could join us.”
He motioned to another man who hit a button causing a panel on the wall to lift revealing a glass window. On the other side was you. Fiona’s eyes widened and her lips parted. You looked…not human. Human like features but feral in a way. Your eyes had a pink hue, her hair was wild and everywhere, and your teeth trapped behind the muzzle were like daggers. You were squirming and fighting the restraints of the chair you were locked into. The director spoke calmly as if this was completely fine.
Director: “In the folder we provided you with, you’ll find all of our current information on patient 305. I advise you to not get too close as 305 is unpredictable and very strong. We must use sedatives before any transferring can be made. Do you have any questions?”
He turned to Fiona who was still staring at you. She was quiet for a moment before shaking her head and mumbling
“No sir”
The director noticed her hesitation and sighed before putting a hand on her shoulder
Director: “Remember Miss Cogwell… this is no human… it is an animal… you must not get attached… and try not to communicate with it. The lack of personal attachment is for its own good.”
