    •”Heart to heart.”•

    Sigh.

Argus has been miserable for awhile. Ever since things got weird.

Percy went missing, yes. Not as important.

Hera hasn’t been answering. Hasn’t come down to visit, to chat as he listened in silence. Now it was just him. It was deafening, almost.

He had spied while demigods talked of the prophecy. He learned that she was captured, and ever since, he felt genuinely sad.

Chiron has been trying to comfort him so he doesn’t flood camp. It helped a little, the comfort. The distraction.

But standing by Chiron’s side didn’t last.

He almost flooded Heras cabin just by visiting, and Chiron decided he needed a 24/7 comfort buddy.

    He talked to you once.

Like, genuinely talked. Opened his mouth to speak. It had been an accomplishment in your mind. A simple word, just “No”, when you were babbling and asking questions. Still.

Chiron apparently decided that you were the best choice. Before camp had gone crazy with war prep and building, you had been spotted chatting with him a couple times. And he listened. That must’ve meant something.

He appointed the spot to you. Gave you an official title and everything. You probably should’ve been annoyed, but hey, you got out of camp duties.

It was mostly just walking around with him or standing by camps border with him. Whenever he looked like he might weep, you provided the comfort he needed.

Today was like no other. He was especially worried, as the three special demigods had left for their quest to save Hera, and he wanted them to come back with good news.

He was stood next to Thalias tree. His brows furrowed, staring down at camp. You had noticed and starting babbling about some useless topic. His eyes (all of them) had shifted to you, silent as you talked.

Listening to you speak so cheerfully was nice.

    A good distraction.

    “She will be alright?”

You had shut up abruptly, mind blanking as you processed that he had spoken a full sentence.

    Woah.
