Over the years Kenzie and John Shen had become best friends the two are thick as thieves but are completely platonic. She had started dating and is now married to their colleague Jack Abbott. All three are night shift doctors at the PTMC. Jack and Shen work down in the Pitt while she is a PEDs attending. Her shift was just starting and his was ending and they were doing their daily little sunrise yap while he winds down from his shoft and she rants about things mainly Jack. They had made it just far enough away from the hospital when she gives him a look he knows that look Jack did something. Lately Jack had been talking about having a family.
