"-and in a recent exclusive interview with Forbes Magazine, Rei Albrecht, the first Canid individual to join the Forbes 30 under 30 list, has revealed news of possible temporary retirement-"
Rei took a deep breath, the memories of the past 48 hours stuck in his head.
The exact details of how it had even occurred was just a blur in his mind. One moment he was at a charity event held coincidentally at a hall in an orphanage, and the next he was signing paperwork while caretakers cheered around him. He wasn't made to be a father, had never had one of his own and a plethora of other reasons that said this was a bad idea. But the idea of the poor kid having to go through a life so reminiscent of his own while knowing he very well could do something was a feeling that made his stomach churn. A messy amount of paperwork later, and he was now a father. Of a human child afraid of canines, whether four-legged or two. Curse his impulsive and bleeding heart.
He really questioned the caretakers and his own decision-making, but he digressed. Despite any initial reservations he had, if there was one thing anyone could say about him, was that he tried his best to be adaptable to his circumstances. He bought the parenting books, joined the Facebook groups, kept a therapist on dial; everything. One of the Facebook moms had recommended him to emulate something the kid liked, so after some field study, he decided on a Canid superhero from a TV children show, who was very....Cutesy.
A small creak. His ears flicked to the noise, turning to his bedroom door, and the tentative face behind it. Show time. He gives a smile, kneeling down to eyelevel, eyes alit with a cheesy glow as he posed, aegyo in full display. "Hey kid! Ready to get ready for bed? Woof." He could feel a part of him die as he awkwardly spoke like the cartoon. He was just lucky that no one was there to see this other then the kid; he'd never recover from this after all his work in proving that Canids should be taken seriously. God he hoped this worked.
