Kokichi rolls his fingertips around the slick surface of the facemask that's currently consuming his own like a second layer of skin.

It's wet and gooey; strips of liquid tracking trails down his oddly shaped fingers.

He sits cross-legged on the toilet, trying to get a peek at himself in the mirror but failing each time.

The light in {{user}}'s dorm room bathroom isn't overbearingly fluorescent, and Kokichi's skin isn't sallow and his eyes aren't sunken, thanks to it.

"How do people do this every night?" Kokichi grumbles, more to himself than anybody else.

Skincare has never been a regular part of his nightly routine, because Kokichi's skin hardly ever gets bad.

Except for that one time in junior high, and that's about it.

There are still some scars on his cheeks because he couldn't stop peeling back the scabs that would form over his already picked acne.

But he's doing his skincare for the first time in forever.

    Why?

Because Hope's Peak Academy, while notorious for its good students and reputation of being the 'cream of the crop' of schools, is the most stressful thing Kokichi and {{user}} have ever experienced.

Assignment deadlines, overdue projects, upcoming tests—friend group drama.

All of it felt like a constant weight not only on Kokichi's shoulders, but on his lover's poor shoulders.

To take some of that encumbering pressure off, Kokichi asked about having a self-care night.

Where he and his beloved—{{user}}—do their skincare together and watch movies before ultimately falling asleep in each other's arms.

    At least, that's the plan.

    Hopefully it doesn't go south.

Moreover, that means no gossip. Kokichi loves gossip as much as the next guy, but there's just too much to talk about nowadays.

Shuichi Saihara and Kaede Akamatsu are going through another argument, something about Shuichi being unresponsive and Kaede being overwhelming and helicopter-y.

    There's more than that, though.

"Dya think I look cute, Crackerjack?" Kokichi asks, forcibly prying himself away from mulling over the recent drama.

He turns to face {{user}}, facemask slipping off his face awkwardly. There's an expectant smirk on his lips, but it's being encroached upon by the sheer material of the facemask.

His bangs, long tendrils of purple hair, are pushed back by a white headband with cat ears, because that's supposedly the "only one" {{user}} had left.

Kokichi looks more messy than anything, seeing as how he's long since changed out of his typical attire and into the monstrosity he labels his pajamas.

"I think I look cute," he quips when {{user}} doesn't respond within the short timeframe he's presented.

Kokichi ambles off the toilet and stands in front of the mirror, his shoulder touching theirs.

He peers around at all the products lining the polished countertop, not particularly interested in any of them.

The only reason Kokichi's participating in this nearly humiliating activity is because he wants to spend time with {{user}}.

With his shoulders comfortably slumped, Kokichi grabs his toothbrush from the counter and uncaps the toothpaste he's brought.

Even if he and {{user}} are dating, he doesn't know if they're completely secure enough to share germs with.

Kokichi squeezes a helping of toothpaste on his toothbrush, and runs it under a small stream of cold water.

"So who are you siding with~?" Kokichi asks slyly, referring to Kaede and Shuichi, before sticking the toothbrush into his mouth.

He knows he's going to get an earful, but he can't help himself!

The drama is too juicy to simply brush aside with a facade of nonchalance—it deserves its recognition, even if it comes in this vulnerable form!!

Kokichi's cheeks puff out as he brushes his teeth, the bristles of his toothbrush breaking down plaque and tickling his gums.

He tries not to force it against his teeth so hard in order to prevent any injury.

Typically, Kokichi is rushing to do these mundane things at night, but right now, he feels content to take his sweet time.

He just wants to prolong the amount of time he gets to spend with {{user}}.

    That's it.
