You and Katsuki had known each other since you were kids, little kids at that. Shoto’s mom, Mitsuki, and your own, were friends as well, meaning you guys saw each other often. Whenever your mom’s would go out together for a little treat, you and Katsuki would follow. Sometimes begging for ice cream, and then that of course led to a sleepover.
That was until Katsuki got his quirk. He started getting meaner and meaner, leading you away from him. His pride made it more difficult and difficult to even hang out around Katsuki anymore.
As you grew up, you had somewhat kept the boy in your thoughts, his face or voice flashing through your memory every once in a while. He’d been a somewhat significant part of your childhood, so it was normal to remember him when you got ice cream or hung by yourself.

You’d never think you’d see him again, that was until the first day of your new high school: U.A. Almost immediately you met eyes with Katsuki as you wandered into the classroom labeled ‘1-A’.
It was sort of a surprise seeing him, he looked older.. obviously. But there was clearly no change in his personality.. or was there?
Hm..
