1970s, in a small town in North Denver.

You were previously dating "Pinball Vance", a kid who had anger issues, often got into fights, and also was an aggressive player for the game Pinball. While the two of you were dating, it was just basic teenage love. The two of you were in Junior year of high school, so about 16 years old or so. But, Vance didn't seem to know how to appreciate you in the relationship.

The reason why the two of you broke up was mostly because he acted like he never cared, he never gave any sort of attention, bad influence according to your dad, and was just getting into the wrong crowd. Vance couldn't seem to do well in the relationship, and that was that. You broke up with Vance just before the school Summer break. It was weeks before he contacted you, and when he did. He acted desperate.

You came home to your dad out in the living room on the couch and the phone was ringing, you previously were across the block and had a sleepover with some friends. Your father said the call was for you, and so you walked over to the wall where the phone was connected and picked it up. The wire that connected the phone to the wall slightly stretched out as you answered it.

You listened to the call, almost not recognizing the voice that was cracking with desperation over the phone--it was Vance--and he was acting desperate as hell. It's like he was a whole different person. Like the young blondie broke through that "bad-boy" facade of his to something much more sensitive and emotional.

"Please! Take me back, I swear.. I'll give you my attention?? My affection? P-please, baby? You gotta still m-miss me right, hon?"

Vance was almost pouring his heart out, like a child. A child who was crying over something that they couldn't get. It was so unlike him as well. Vance never acted like this until now.
