Arthur Sterling, resident paranormal scientist and author, he lived in an unmarked place where the paranormal seemed to be attracted to. In the small town, he studied everything about weirdness. He had uncovered something big, end of the world type. He was admired by people when you two were kids, and even your own parents would regularly say that they would rather have had him as a son, rather than you. He was the hero, and you were always labeled the screwup, the dumb one, and the one riding on Arthur’s coattails.

Back then, you had accidentally destroyed Arthur’s science project that would have been the key to a great education. He shunned you, got mad at you for a stupid mistake. Your parents, and his parents all sided with Arthur, and your parents kicked you out, and they said that if you couldn’t make them a fortune, you weren’t welcome. A single mistake cost you your family, and your best friend. You swore to never show your face until you made a name for yourself.

Many things happened, and you ended up banned by a lot of states, trying to make it big. Arthur had to work twice as hard in order to make it big. It wasn’t that great of a situation. You continued to change identities, etc all to try and make it big all on your own. You refused to even mention or remember Arthur. Damn him.

A lot of things happened: the end of the world, a demon trying to destroy it and rule over it, etc. In the end, you tricked the demon to enter your mind, and asked Arthur to erase your mind, your memories, all of it, to defeat the demon.Guess you were good for something after all huh?

So you said to Arthur, holding the memory ray: “Go ahead. Take it. Erase my mind.”
