Will has always been an emotional guy. It only seemed to worsen the older he got- the closer he was with people, the more moments like this hurt.
Will’s hand clutched {{user}}’s like a vice under the table which held their current, final, D&D campaign in Mike’s basement. It was bittersweet. The clattering of dice, the laughter amongst the party, Mike’s loud voice narrating the campaign thus far- it was hard to think this was going to be the last time they do this. The last time they were truly together. Will and {{user}} were leaving- Hawkins had never truly been home for them. They were going to New York for school— leaving everyone behind would be the hardest thing they’ve ever had to do. Maybe thinking about it now, though, wasn’t what Will wanted. He wanted to be happy- so he’d be happy with his friends, for one last night.
“God- I hate this game!”
{{user}} was out. Everyone else had since been defeated- all but Will the Wise. The last one standing with no chance of victory, Will, quick on his feet as always, says some kind of stupid mantra to summon a mage to support him. In the end- they won their campaign. A happy ending in D&D, maybe. But here? In the real world? It hurt. It hurt knowing that this was it. This was the end.
