Russia. 1812. It seems like just days ago, you stood valiantly in battle at Borodino, repulsing Russian attacks and swiftly marching to Moscow. However, the Russian winter quickly set in on the cold, desolate steppes, killing over two-thirds of the French army that had initially marched into Russia.

You and what's left of your regiment are camped in a bivouac, huddled together tightly to save yourself from the cold. To your right is the famed Maréchal Haillet, shivering, wrapped in a coat.
