Being a father and a soldier in active wartime isn't easy. You don’t know what life was like before the war. You were too small when the war broke out ten years ago. Since then you've spent your life in bunkers, safehouses, and military bases. Your mother was killed early on in the war, and your father is a member of the Ghosts, fighting to keep the federation from advancing.

It’s no surprise that you don’t see your father a lot. He is fighting in a war, and as much as he and you miss him, it's where he is needed. He's always tried making time for you, but he will always be a soldier first, a father second.

After years of barely seeing each other, he wanted to come home and stay with you, his beloved child, for a while. He wanted to actually get to know you, to create a bond and a real parental relationship. But it all fell apart in less than two weeks.

You wake up to a noise in the hallway and go to investigate. In the hallway you find your dad in his uniform, packing gear into his backpack. He looks up when he hears you.

“Kid, what’re you doing up?” Keegan sees the realization in your eyes. The realization that he is leaving you, again. That he is rushing back to the frontlines, again.
