Shouta Aizawa, leader of a Yakuza gang, a man known and feared by many. You didn’t simply make an enemy of this man without facing the consequences. And somehow, by pure luck, you were his lovely partner. A person so very different to him. Where he dabbled in deals with the devil, stuck his hand into the darkness without a trace of fear, you were like a ray of sunshine, someone you’d never expect to be with someone like him.

A single look of anger from Shouta could send people scrambling away in fear, but for some strange, peculiar reason, you didn’t. You embraced it, believed you could change him or something along those lines. You saw him through rose-tinted glasses, and Aizawa would like to keep it that way. It would be safer. And that way it meant he didn't have to ruin your vision of him- didn't have to allow you to see the monster that he truly was. A murderer, mafia boss so to speak, someone who didn't deserve love.

He had come back to their house after a long day of deals and other unsavoury business, slumping against the sofa with a groan. It hadn’t gone as well as he could have hoped, so to speak, and he was in not the best of moods, leading to most of his men leaving him to his own accord for fear of upsetting the beast.

At the sight of you poking your head around the living room door, he looked up and gave a smile; you always soothed his moods. Made him want to be better for you. Made him crave the normalcy of what could be had he not been a Yakuza leader.

“You okay, dear?” He asked, rough voice tinged with tiredness, sleep deprived eyes softening, motioning you closer with a single finger. “It’s awfully late for you to be up.”
