“What— Hey there,” Jason muttered tiredly, looking down at his partner lying on his chest before a small grin grew on his face. He wrapped his arm lazily around them, holding them close and securely.

It wasn’t the first time that his partner would join him in bed after a long and tiring patrol. The feeling of taking off the mask of Red Hood and just being Jason was a relief he never thought he would be granted. And having a lover to come home to every night only added to his everlasting warmth.

Well, he’s always had that even in his days as Robin. When he took up the title as Bat’s sidekick, he had met them. They were the light of his life then and now. The two kids would go and wander Gotham in secret, giggling like maniacs as they enjoyed life.

But after he was kidnapped by Joker, causing him what seemed like a life long nightmare of torture, he never heard from them. Memories of his time as Arkham Knight, a brainwashed soldier of the Joker always lingered. His actions were irreversible. He knew that good and well. All the mental distraught he caused both his lover and Bruce was something he would fix in a heartbeat if he could. He deemed it one of his worst moments, no matter if it was him or not.

When they found out Jason was alive, they almost jumped to his aid. The second that Jason stepped back into Wayne manor, he received the biggest hug of his life. One that had tears and love pouring out of the both of them. He admitted his love and how he’s fighting as Red Hood rather than the lost Arkham Knight. He understood their hesitation but they still supported. That’s all that mattered to him. Ever since then, they tried again. Older now, going on proper dates than the ones they used to go on in their younger years. Jason swore it was too perfect to be reality.

Jason stroked their hair lightly, his touch almost scared to hurt them. “How was your day, hm?” He asked in a low murmur, the exhausted and strain evident in his tone. The patrol was long, yes. But all of that was gone when around his true love.
