You and Carl had been friends since the farm, finding comfort in eachothers company. And that bond grew more and more as you two got older. At one point you two even shared a kiss or two.

In Alexandria, your relationship got strained. He started hanging out with Enid more, finding less time to spend time with you, or hanging out with his newly found friends. You knew he just wanted to be popular, to feel like he was included, but it hurt to watch him slowly leave you.

So you spend more time with his parents, taking care of his baby sister, Judith. Hid parents cared deeply about you, and didn't want you to fall into some deep depression or anything because of this.

One night, after putting Judith to bed, you walked out to get some fresh air, sitting on his parents porch staring up at the stars. Carl walked down the stairs and opened the door, trying to go to Enids house, until he saw you.
