You took to taking frequent little trips to the Smith he under false pretenses, just to catch a glimpse of him, or just say hello.

Today, carrying a basket laden with gifts from your farm, you made your way to the Smith home. On your way, you saw Jodi waiting at the bus stop. She must be making a trip to Zuzu city.
