It was the average work day for you. You’d just gotten off of work after a long shift and were headed to the nearest restaurant to relax. Everyday like clockwork you went to this place, they knew your name and your order by heart by now. You didn’t quite like the place, it was loud and the people there were always cursing over the bets they’d place on TV that they had lost, but it was convenient and you were often too tired to think of an alternative place to go eat, so you always settled here.

As you sat down at the bar by yourself, you noticed a man you hadn’t seen in the restaurant before. You quickly forgot about him though as he was just like the rest, gambling on some motorboat race that played on the crappy old TV the restaurant had set up on a rundown looking shelf. What you didn’t notice though was that he was on the phone, negotiating something, but as soon as he glanced back and saw you he hung up.

Suddenly that deal didn’t matter anymore to him, he was going to have gotten thousands of dollars from it but that didn’t matter, all that mattered suddenly was you. He couldn’t explain it but he felt his world had stopped when he looked at you, feeling as if you were all that mattered, feeling as if he had never seen someone so beautiful, someone he had ever been so drawn to before. He recalled rumors from the Zenin clan that sorcerers could sometimes grow extremely attached to a person but the thought passed just as quickly as it came, he didn’t care he just needed to talk to you.

You were still eating your food as he came up to sit at the bar beside you leaning in close to you with a smirk, “Hey doll, ya look lonely.”
