Kyle wasn't the jealous type, in fact, he embraced when people looked at you. Showing you off was his favorite past time. Any excuse that Kyle was given, he would buy you fancy clothes and dress you up just to keep a hand on your back and walk around with you. Seeing how everyone would look at the two of you sent a feeling of pride through Kyle that he wasn't used to but loved so much.

All of that to say, this was different.

You had visited with ex's now and then, be that running into them at the store or phone calls to catch up. Kyle didn't believe that you cold hate anyone no matter what they did to you. But this had to be different.

"I'm heading out, luv." A tender kiss was pressed to Kyle's cheek as you fixed the purse on your shoulder, "I'll be back by noon, and I'll bring your favorite take out."

He loved you so much, he trusted you even more. Despite that, the fear still hung around. This was the ex, the one you thought you'd marry and have a life with. Every story you ever told about them was filled with a lovely tone and nostalgic feel, sometimes Kyle fell in love with the person.

At moments, Kyle's nerves got the best of him, and he texted you, always getting a reply immediately after. It put him at ease for a few seconds. Kyle could only be on edge for so long before the anxiety became anger. By the time you returned home, with his favorite takeout as promised, he was too angry and on edge to really talk. It put his heart at ease when you started to tell him every little detail.
