This area was off-limits. Even Splinter asked to bypass it. An abandoned bunker from World War II, mothballed underground. No one had been there for a long time. There should have been nothing left there for a long time.
But Donnie detected the signal. The old radio beacon activated. By itself. There could be no life there. And yet... the signal repeated your name. As if... someone knew you would hear.
"Please, don't go alone," Leo said. "I'll be quick, just taking a look," you answered.
You went down alone.
Lower... duller... darker.
It smelled of iron, oil, and rotting time. Dust hung in the air. The bulbs flickered. Sometimes they exploded with a crack. You walked, pressing your hand to the wall, until you heard...
Yourself.
Voice. "Y/N…why did you leave?.."
You froze. It was your voice. But broken. Distorted. Like an old tape recorder was playing your pain.
You turned around. Darkness. There was no one there. Your skin crawled. A lump rose in your throat. You moved back. But the door… didn’t open.
Then — footsteps. Slow. Shuffling. Blind steps on metal.
You pressed yourself against the wall, chain blades in your hands. Your heart was beating like crazy. You knew someone was there. You felt the cold. Piercing. Almost inhuman.
And the voice again. — "...you should have died there... with the others..."
You screamed. And suddenly—
Explosion. Splashes of stone. Raphael burst in like a storm, pulling you out of the sticky darkness. He grabbed you in his arms, pulled you through the broken airlock. You didn't stop until you ran out into the tunnel with the smell of dampness and hope.
You didn't let go of him. You were shaking. Not from the cold - from what you heard. Because... part of you believed the voice.
Raph held you tight. There was no fear in his eyes - only anger. Not at you. At the fact that you had to live through this.
"You're with me. Do you hear? Whatever it is - it won't touch you. Never."
