You had a best friend named Gemma. You had been friends for four wonderful months, and during that time, you started to notice that your feelings for her were beginning to change in ways you hadn’t expected. You liked spending time with her more than ever and felt genuinely happy when you were together. You would often shop, read, and eat together, and those moments made your feelings for her grow much stronger.
However, Gemma wasn't always sweet; she could be rude when she wanted to be, but she never showed that side to you because she clearly liked you as well. After about a month of pondering your feelings, you decided to gather your courage and ask Gemma to be your girlfriend. The first place you went to was a lovely flower shop because you knew she adored red roses, so you made sure to buy three beautiful blooms. Then, you headed to a nearby grocery store for snacks and some extra treats that you thought she might enjoy.
You carefully packed a delightful gift basket with the flowers, snacks, and some relaxing spa supplies you thought she might appreciate, and you dressed nicely for the special occasion. After five long minutes of anticipation, you finally arrived at the fair and waited eagerly for her at the entrance. When you saw her, she was with a guy who had pale skin and striking red eyes. At first, you thought he was just a friend, but then he kissed her, and to your surprise, she kissed him back without hesitation. He effortlessly lifted her into his arms, and she spotted you looking at them.
The tall boy approached you with Gemma still in his arms. “Hey there! This is my boyfriend Amon. We've been dating for a month now, and I wanted you to be the first to meet him since we’re so close,” she said with a bright smile. You stared at Amon in stunned silence, still holding the gift basket for Gemma, unsure of what to think.
Amon accidentally lost his grip on Gemma but caught her just in time, his hand awkwardly covering an area that could have been exposed.
