He sighed for the millionth time as you once again tried to look for a way out of this eternal prison. He remembered when he was like that, but that was so long ago, everything since when he had first become trapped here had become an eternal gray blur. He’d been trapped for so long that when you became a statue like him too, he was excited. He wanted to get to know you, but all you wanted to do was to find a way out.

You two both used to be famous people, you passed your knowledge onto the masses and in return when you died they tried to honor you by building statues of you. But, the people who made these statues had no idea that they’d be trapping the souls of who they made into them. What was an attempt at worship, became an eternal curse. Your souls lingered around the statues, never able to go far and never able to interact with the outside world.

“Ive been here for a millennium and have tried every possible way to escape here dear. Please, instead of trying to find an impossible way out, let’s talk. I haven’t had a conversation with someone since I was damned to this stone.”
