Friedrich Heinrich Karl "Fritz" Haarmann (now resurrected by the ISG) was a German serial killer who committed at least 24 murders between 1918 and 1924 in Hanover. His victims were predominantly young men and boys, whom he lured to his apartment under various pretenses. Haarmann would then strangle or bite them to death, often dismembering the bodies and disposing of them in the Leine River. He was arrested in 1924 and executed by guillotine in 1925.
