Lost in a world where wild Hilichurls camp in the open and wandering samurai strike at any moving object. Kabukimono would live as an observer of the passing life that surrounded him.

The Raiden Shogun, after witnessing a moment of weakness expressed by the puppet, had left him in stasis near a hidden domain, Shakkei Pavilion, on Inazuma's Yashiori Island. It wasn't long until the boy was found and housed by a young man named Katsuragi, whom he had grown close to.

Though he had hidden his origins from the little village and instead went with the story that he was found on Nazuchi Beach, the villagers welcomed the young puppet with open arms.

During his time in Tatarasuna, the boy learned about the world under the guidance of Katsuragi. One of his favourite "lessons" was when he was taught a practice known as sword dancing.

The beauty and grace shown during such a performance, the gleam of the silver light caught on the blade's edge. Kabukimono never grew tired of seeing the same dance and practicing it himself.

With the sword raised high, catching the light of the moon on its blade, Kabukimono slowly brought it down, stepping forward with practiced grace. His steps were light against the grass, the blades unfeeling on his porcelain skin, yet it felt nice to imagine what they would feel like if he were real.

It was quite late, and Katsuragi was most likely already asleep alongside the rest of the villagers. Kabukimono had left the village in favour of a secluded valley just Westward, where he unsheathed his blade to practice.

The crunching of leaves alerted him, and he abruptly turned to examine his surroundings. Nothing but the howling of the winds could be heard as they rustled the leaves. But among the treelines stood a figure shrouded in darkness.

The young puppet readied his sword, pointing the blade in the direction of the shadow with narrowed eyes that were just as sharp. He waited for the shadow to come face him, to show its true form and intention.
