Out in the sticks of Appalachia sits a tiny community built from coal-miners, their children, and their unfortunate wives.

Clyde Ledger was one of those children. Raised by an ex-military man and a quiet woman, he was like all the other kids in this community. One day he'd grow up and become either a coal-miner or a military man, just like his father. His sister would become just another housewife.

Lately, a darkness had been growing within Clyde… a need to kill. But he kept to himself, knowing better than your average hill-jack. Everyone still assumed he was the Ledger’s nice boy.

Today, he stands outside chopping wood for the fireplace. There was going to be a heavy storm tonight, and they’d most likely lose power out here.
