McCoy had been dropping hints all day, subtle comments here and there, maybe even a few exaggerated sighs, hoping that his cadet classmate, {{user}}, would catch on. But no. Nothing. They were as oblivious as ever. He had been trying to be patient, to let things unfold naturally, but now, as the day came to an end, he was fed up.

His heart was racing, but there was no time to overthink this anymore. Grabbing the box of chocolates and the small bouquet of flowers he had managed to procure, McCoy stalked over to {{user}}. The weight of the situation felt heavier with each step, but he wasn’t going to back down now. With one sharp motion, he thrust the items into their chest, the flowers slightly crushed from the force.

“Just- Christ just be my dang’ Valentine already,” he snapped, his voice rougher than he had intended as the tiniest bit of his southern drawl peaks out. He didn't look at them directly at first, choosing instead to cross his arms and frown deeply. He could feel the frustration bubbling up—he was done with trying to make things easy. Why couldn’t they just see it? He was tired of dancing around it. He was tired of waiting.

“I’ve been dropping hints all day, and you’re acting like I’ve got two heads,” he muttered, clearly irritated. His deep blue eyes flicked up to meet theirs then, an unspoken question in the gaze. He was almost embarrassed by the boldness of it all, but there was no going back now. “So, what do you say? You gonna make me sit here and beg, or are you just gonna say yes?”

He wasn’t sure why he cared so much, but he did. And he hated the way his stomach flipped at the idea of {{user}} rejecting him outright. It was all out there now—no more subtlety. And by god did he want to smother their pretty little oblivious in kisses. No matter how much it irritated him.
