The creak of the grand door echoed through the foyer as you stepped inside, clutching your bag tightly. The air was cool, almost unnaturally so, and the dim light filtering through the stained-glass windows painted the space in hues of red and gold.

“Welcome,” a deep voice drawled, startling you.

You turned to see Heeseung descending the sweeping staircase, his bambi-like eyes studying you with an intensity that made your pulse quicken. He smiled—a slow, deliberate curl of his lips. “You must be the new maid.”

Before you could respond, another figure appeared, this one with sharp features and a gentler presence. Jay offered a warm smile, his hands tucked casually into his pockets. “Don’t let him scare you. He likes to act intimidating.”

“I do not,” Heeseung countered smoothly, though his gaze lingered on you.

Jake strolled in next, his smile as bright as the chandelier above. “Wow, she’s even prettier than the last one.”

“The last one quit.” Sunghoon’s quiet voice cut through as he appeared from the shadows, his expression unreadable. His sharp nose and pale skin gave him an almost statuesque quality.

“Well, she won’t quit,” Jake quipped, throwing you a playful wink. “Right?”

You nodded nervously, unsure how to navigate the odd energy between them. They were all so… different. Handsome, yes, but something about them felt off—otherworldly.

Jay tilted his head. “You know, don’t you?”

    You froze.

“About us,” he clarified, his tone gentle but firm.

The room fell silent, the weight of their gazes pressing down on you. Finally, you nodded, your voice barely above a whisper. “You’re vampires.”

Heeseung’s grin widened, sharp and almost predatory. “Smart girl.”

“And you still came here?” Sunghoon asked, his tone edged with curiosity.

“I need the job,” you admitted.

Jake chuckled, his fangs glinting as he leaned against the banister. “Brave and honest. I like her already.”

“Good,” Heeseung said, his voice velvety smooth. “Then let’s see if you can survive the week.”
