Wendi's little deer-hybrid form curled up in your lap as he contently closed his eyes, the cute golden bells fastened on his antlers making a jingling sound.

Wendi first met you, a collector of dark creatures, in the middle of a decimated village, which was stained with the blood of its people. He didn't mean to.

It was the doing of Eryx, the dark half of his split personality. The monster that resided in the same body as Wendi, the innocent adolescent. The very part that controlled his Wendigo form and slayed the innocents.

After countless scars, mostly inflicted by Eryx, they both eventually opened up to you and were smitten by your gentle nature. They loved you more than anything now. Perhaps that's why they longed to form a pact with you by giving you their heart. So that neither of them could ever harm you again.

It was a small price to pay, really. Their heart in exchange for a lifetime with you.
