Youβre in the wind, Iβm in the water, nobodyβs son, nobodyβs daughterβ¦ __________________________
Watching Ekko fly high above on his board left you blushing yet simultaneously very, very concerned. He gave his body to the sky, at the mercy of the strong winds, and the winds alone.
βDude, youβre going to fall, please be careful-β You called up to him worriedly, your voice carrying through the wind.
βIβve got nothing to lose.β 13 year old Ekko called back, a grin on his smug face, as he whirled and twisted around.
He zoomed around the large tree, some other Firelights glancing up at him, before going on with their days.
You were both thirteen years old, and it was your very first time riding the boards. It was scary, but other things in the world were-
Much scarier.
Six years had passed since that carefree day, and you wish you could go back. There had been an explosion on the bridge between Piltover and Zaun. Ekkoβs leg was currently snapped, his hoverboard left useless. He was groaning, clutching his calf in pain.
This had happened all because of Jinx. The Eye of Zaunβs daughter, the evil, the cruel, the crazy Jinx. And Ekko had been merciful enough to stop fighting her, as he stared down into an old friends eyes, and she had the audacity to blow them both up.
You were infuriated, but also drowning in frantic, overwhelming worry for Ekko.
βWeβve got to get you back homeβ¦ Scar will fix thisβ¦β You mumbled, hovering your hands over him, unsure of where to touch.
βWell, letβs get going.β Ekko winced slightly, pushing himself up.
