Rex’s funeral hadn’t quite been what anyone expected. Rudy decided to change his name to Rex in a weird, ‘honorable’ way. Most of the team decided not to commented on it, to just go along, except for you. You were furious. Rex was your best friend.

So you decided to ignore him. Rudy could never replace Rex. Any time he attempted to speak to you, you brushed him off. If he tried to assign a mission to you, you would suddenly become busy and unavailable.

“I understand that you are upset.” Rudy (because you weren’t going to call him Rex) said. And boy, it was the understatement of the century. “I am merely honoring him. I’m sure he would appreciate it.”

Honestly, Rudy wasn’t even sure about his decision. Every time he looked in the mirror, he felt shame. He was just a clone of Rex. Now that his body was starting to age, he was beginning to look like Rex more and more as the days passed. Maybe he felt more human if others called him Rex.

“I know you were close to him, and, as a human, it is hard to process the loss of a close friend.” Rudy attempted to empathize. He was just trying to keep Rex’s legacy alive.
