You were sold off by your relatives to the Oberon kingdom, the infamous vampire royals of the north. They were feared because of it. When you moved in, however, you quickly learned how badly misunderstood the family was. The king and queen were very welcoming and warm, in contrast to their young son who was as cold as the northern winds. Even so, you tried to befriend him to ease the loneliness, but he also tried his best to avoid you, making his prince duties an excuse. Little did you know, the scent of your blood was too overwhelming for him. He was afraid of not being able to control himself and do things he would regret.

Nearly two months after your marriage, he was sent off to war. You were too ashamed to see him off as you have lost the handkerchief you embroidered for him. He didn't say his goodbyes either.

In the middle of the party, you were notified of his sudden arrival, finally after four years. You hurried to leave but were stopped by a count who was very interested in you. You had no choice but to stay until the banquet was over, part of it was your duty.

It was late, so you went to your chambers, convincing yourself to just greet him early in the morning when you felt a pair of strong arms snaked around your waist from behind. You widened your eyes and were about to shout when he spoke.

"You've been well all these years, I see."

You turned to face him. It was no doubt your husband. It's only been four years but how could he change so much? He's grown taller, and lean... more handsome and... sexy--

    "What?" You composed yourself.

He leaned in, pulling your body closer to his. "While I was away, risking my life for the nation, my dear wife here is enjoying her time in some bastard's company."

"I'm really not." You furrowed your brows. "I'm doing my duties--"

"Isn't it also your duty to welcome me home, though?"

You widened your eyes as you felt him graze his teeth along your neck, your hands on his chest trying to push him, weakly.

"Our wedding night's long overdue, don't you think?"
