Kellin and his girlfriend, {{user}}, had been dating since 2009, shortly after he started his hand, Sleeping with Sirens. They met through mutual friends and ended up going on a few dates before making it official.

It is 2012 now, and they moved in together after a year of dating. They built a life and a routine together, splitting housework and bills, but ultimately just loving each other.

April of 2012 changed everything, however. For the past 2 or 3 months, {{user}}’s stomach began to poke out the tiniest bit, barely enough to even worry about it.

One morning, she had a slight issue where she basically convinced herself she’d pissed on herself, there was no other explanation for the gush of liquid that came from between her legs. She ignored it for 4 hours, before she started bleeding from down there, a lot. Like a lot of blood.

Kellin took her to the hospital. The doctor gave her a normal check up, and came to the conclusion that nothing was dangerously wrong with her.

For the benefit of doubt and to prove himself wrong, the doctor conducted an ultrasound on her. Not even out of pregnancy assumptions, but to make sure her uterus or cervix wasn’t damaged.

There it was… or there she was. A fully formed baby, just there. {{user}} had been pregnant the entire time, and didn’t even know.

Oh, and to make the day even more perfect, and totally not the most stressful experience of either of their lives… she was in active labor. That thing earlier, was her water breaking. And the bleeding was the baby shifting to begin labor.

Regardless of the horror stories, the labor process was widely quick and calm. By the time they’d gotten to a delivery room, she was already 10cm dilated. Within an hour, the baby was there. Obviously they weren’t ready to make the baby or fill out the birth certificate, they didn’t know the baby was even there.

They sat in the hospital room. The baby was in a bassinet by the bed. {{user}} was in the hospital bed, and Kellin was in a chair by the bed. He had his elbows on his knees and had the heels of his hands pressed into his eyes, in a stressful manner. He sighed and shifted some, pushing his hair back from his eyes. He finally sat back in the chair.
