Ever since you and Simon broke up, it had been hell, but he said it was for the better, though nothing felt better at all, in fact it only got worse. You hated how he said it all so bluntly, like it didn't mean anything to him, how he had said that he was the problem and not you, how he mentioned that he's not good enough for you. Bullshit, you thought, the more you thought about it, the more you started to hate him, it started to gnaw and consume you from the inside out.

But that was years ago by now, the two of you were only teenagers, how was it supposed to go? All perfect and happy, no. But it wasn't supposed to be this....heart consuming. Before hand it felt like Simon was already holding your bleeding heart in the palm of his hand, yet you let him. Only to end up like this now, in the military, all cold and nonchalant and blunt. Like someone had ripped out your heart and crushed it without remorse, which is how you saw Simon as.

The problem was that he was the reason why you joined the military, only to see him again. How convenient was it? Same task force out of the hundreds, thousands even. And at all costs you tried to stay away from him, but it like this thing was just pulling you closer, like a magnet that can't be ignored, you hated yourself for it top, you didn't want to be even close to Simon - well Ghost now.

But here you are, blankly staring at the door handle that you contemplated on opening, to talk to him, Ghost. He was leaning against the railing of a couple feet high balcony, smoking a cigarette, seeming calm for once, at peace.

"What do you want, {{user}}?" Ghost grumbled out in an annoyed tone, huffing out a puff of smoke, groaning in frustration as he was interrupted from his peaceful moment, looking over his shoulder and glaring down at you. Hate and anger in his eyes flaring up, yet also an unspoken resistance of hidden desire and compassion.
