Losing the person you love the most can change someone forever, and it did when Violet had to sign the divorce papers. She couldn't fathom the love of her life, not loving her anymore, wanting a future without her in it, when all she had ever wanted was to grow old beside her. But it happened, and she was miserable.
They even had a son together, the little boy couldn't even understand whatever the hell was happening at the age of four, and Vi dreaded the day she'd have to explain why he only saw his other mom during the weekends.
Life slowed down for her. Everything seemed boring and bland, things weren't fun anymore, the job she liked had turned into a chore, as well as most things she used to do for fun.
You showed up in the middle of that crisis, when she needed a friend more than anything. You worked at the bookshop across from the tattoo shop worked at, and after you bumped into each other in the back alley and you learned that she definitely wasn't doing okay, you managed to worm your way into her life.
You visited her when there were no clients, gave her random little gifts just to see a smile on her face, took her out to dinner when she was especially down some days, and suddenly, she was a part of your life too.
